. If you had met Robert and Michelle during the school year..... Robert and Michelle (998 words) By: PABLO DIABLO Copyright 2019 If you had met Robert and Michelle during the 2017-2018 school year, you would have sworn that these two were longtime lovers.
Yet you would have been wrong.
Robert and Michelle both taught at Tampa Bay Technical High School.
Robert taught computers and internet security.
Michelle, on the other hand, taught children how to write a resume and properly apply for employment.
The students that they taught were students that had become parents at 14,15,16 and such.
The court system had emancipated them so they would have the same rights being parents to their children and not being bossed around by parents that couldn’t raise these kids.
Robert and Michelle’s classrooms were right next to each other.
Occasionally, the principal would visit each of their classrooms to uplift her spirits about how today’s children can still be taught the things that they need to be taught and still be outstanding parents to their own children.
When it rolled around to lunchtime, Robert sat his class at the very next tables to Michelle’s class.
Both teachers encourage making friends in the other’s class.
Some parents tried to interfere and accuse the teachers of forcing the kids to have adult-type relationships.
Robert and Michelle politely explained that these children have already made adult choices, now it was time to teach them how to handle the choices that they made.
It wasn’t until Christmas vacation, that Robert found himself in a quite difficult situation of his own.
He came home from school on the last day of classes only to find his wife in bed, having sex with their pastor.
As one would expect, that led to Robert’s divorce.
He didn’t really have anywhere to go, so out of desperation he called Michelle and asked her what to do.
She suggested that he come over and stay at her home as she has a spare bedroom.
Reluctantly, Robert accepted.
When he arrived with a small backpack and a few items of dress clothes for school, she took him by the hand and walked him to the bedroom that he was going to be using.
“When would you like me to leave?” Robert asked.
“As far as I’m concerned you don’t have to leave unless you want to,” she said to him.
He smiled just a little bit as he stood in the center of the room looking in a completely different way at Michelle.
Over the Christmas vacation, they became much closer than they had ever been.
They started doing everything together.
Both of them enjoyed playing board games as well as playing cards.
They created a group of people to have one night a week playing different board games and a different night playing cards.
Out of all of this, he found himself not thinking about the terrible situation that he just left with his wife.
One delightful evening, Robert and Michelle were out at a restaurant eating dinner together when a couple of their students arrived with some of their friends.
When they saw their two teachers having dinner together, the kids ran over and pestered them with questions.
“Are you two out on a date?” One guy asked.
“How long have you two been dating?” Another kid asked.
“Are you going to get married?” A third student asked.
Michelle took the lead and answered the questions.
“No, we’re not out on a date.
We’re doing some student planning on how to make your lives miserable this coming semester,” she started with, all the while giggling.
“We’re not dating.
The school system frowns on teachers dating as it may lead to inappropriate behavior,” she said answering the second question still giggling.
“If we’re not dating, why would we get married,” Michelle answered the third question.
Robert just sat back and laughed at Michelle’s answers.
They invited the students to join them, but Robert and Michelle were close to finishing their dinner and the students haven’t even begun so they passed on the offer.
The two teachers wished the students a good night as they paid their bill and left the restaurant.
Since Michelle had driven, Robert just sat in the passenger seat and watched Michelle drive them both back to her place.
The entire time he was watching her, his mind drifted off to the questions that the students posed to them.
He thought to himself ‘are the students seeing something that we weren’t seeing between us?’.
When Michelle pulled her cute little yellow VW into the driveway, she shut off the engine but before she got out of the car, Robert leaned over and kissed her passionately.
Anyone could see in her eyes that she was surprised, but none the less, she responded in kind.
Over the next few days, before they had to return from Christmas Vacation, Robert and Michelle had a serious heart to heart discussion about where they were at that moment, and where they saw themselves heading in both the near future and the distant future.
As their discussion in the driveway came to an end, it was Michelle who was the romantic aggressor with Robert.
She cupped his face with both hands and passionately kissed him.
When they broke from the kiss, each of them was grinning from ear to ear.
Robert got out of the car, ran around and opened the door for Michelle.
As they had no plans on going anywhere for New Year’s Eve, she led him into her bedroom where they made passionate love for the very first time.
When they were finished making love, he quipped “There’s not a better way for us to ring in the New Year,” smiling and giggling the whole time.
She just smiled and nodded her head as they stayed into each other’s arms for the entire night.
When they woke the following morning, they both just wanted to lay in bed together to celebrate the new year and the new relationship.
